Bringing Treatment to Life: Experiential Tools for IOP Settings

CE Hours 1

About this live event

Experiential interventions are essential in Intensive Outpatient Programs, where clients often struggle to move from cognitive insight to meaningful emotional engagement. This webinar offers clinicians a practical framework for integrating experiential approaches into IOP settings to enhance safety, engagement, and therapeutic momentum. Participants will examine the role of clinician attunement, intentional pacing, and structured warm-ups in establishing emotional safety and readiness for experiential work. The training will highlight how shared experiential activities strengthen trust and group cohesion while helping clients identify, express, and relate to their emotional experiences. Clinicians will leave with concrete, adaptable experiential interventions for group settings, along with best practices for facilitation and processing to promote integration, connection, and sustained therapeutic progress.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the clinical rationale for experiential interventions and their impact on engagement, emotional regulation, and therapeutic outcomes in Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Intensive Outpatient settings.
  • Identify the role of clinician attunement and facilitation style in creating safety, containment, and effective experiential group processes.
  • Recognize and respect individual client thresholds and pacing, applying strategies that support autonomy while maintaining therapeutic structure.
  • Explain the purpose and clinical value of experiential warm-ups, including practical examples for preparing groups for deeper emotional work.
  • Apply evidence-informed experiential interventions and processing techniques to strengthen insight, integration, and group cohesion in IOP treatment.

Gabby Morgan, MSW, LSW (she/her) is a dedicated clinician who helps individuals reconnect with their core selves and reclaim a more authentic, empowered way of living. With a clinical approach that is clear, honest, and deeply relational, Gabby creates spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and invited to engage with life more fully—both emotionally and practically.

Gabby believes that healing begins when people are aligned with who they truly are, not who they’ve been conditioned to be. Her work is rooted in the understanding that meaningful growth requires both emotional insight and practical integration.

With a unique background that spans both business leadership and clinical care, Gabby brings a grounded and strategic presence to her therapeutic work. This blend allows her to support clients in developing actionable tools while fostering deeper emotional awareness. She is especially skilled at helping clients translate self-discovery into tangible changes in how they relate, choose, and lead in their lives.

In both group and individual settings, Gabby’s sessions are designed to be experiential and transformative—offering real-time insight, connection, and skill-building. Her goal is not just to help people understand themselves, but to help them live in a way that reflects that understanding—with intention, spontaneity, and self-trust.
